The volume of the Czech financial aid to Afghanistan remains the same as in the past years, deputy foreign minister Schneider said. He added that the new plan of Czech aid to Afghanistan was based on an agreement made at the NATO summit in Chicago this year. The Czech military presence in Afghanistan is decreasing. The number of soldiers serving there will be lower in the next two years. The Czech Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) will end its mission in Afghanistan at the beginning of 2013. But the Czech Republic will keep supporting security and development in Afghanistan after 2014, Schneider said. President Vaclav Klaus attended today´s meeting of the National Security Council whose member he is as the supreme commander of the Czech armed forces. However, he did not comment on the results of the meeting. Czech State Authority for Nuclear Safety (SUJB) head Dana Drabova told reporters after the meeting that the point of relations between the Czech Republic and Russia was withdrawn from the agenda. The council postponed it until September over the absence of Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg (TOP 09). The security council did not deal with the analysis of the countries´ experience in the approach to victims of terrorist attacks either.
