Pakistan's skewed policy of 'strategic depth' has led to the concept of 'good Taliban' and 'bad Taliban' even though the Taliban are one and the same, i.e., terrorists, the editorial stated. Those who think otherwise should be reminded of how the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan beheaded the soldiers and released a video of the callous act just recently, it added. The Taliban are not anyone's assets; they are liabilities, the editorial in The Express Tribune further added.
The editorial, reacting to U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter's recent BBC interview, said that his statement: "Pakistan should not be part of the problem; it should become part of the solution" - can be taken as friendly advice from the ambassador. In diplomatic parlance, this is a polite way of telling Pakistan to put its house in order, it added.
