Crew of Pakistan’s Mi-17 Helicopter Released

Pakistani TV channel GEO news says, all five Pakistani nationals and a Russian technician, have been relocated to Pakistan.

The incident occurred when the helicopter made an emergency landing in Azra district of Logar province (eastern Afghanistan), and, according to the channel, was en route to Russia for a routine overhaul. Other media outlets claimed that the aircraft was heading from Peshawar to Uzbekistan’s city of Bukhara.

Senior Taliban leader Qari Saifullah Mehsud told Pakistani media that his group was behind the incident.
