Afghan and Pakistani Forces Clash In Nangarhar

Another Afghan security source says that the Paksitani forces have captured a border checkpoint in Gustha district of Nangarhar province.

The clash started on Saturday night in Goshta after Pakistani military forces allegedly fired a number of missiles into the district and Afghan security forces responded, a security source in Nangarhar said.

A source on condition of anonymity said that an Afghan soldier was killed and 2 others were wounded during the clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces.

The incident took place after the Pakistani forces started shelling Goshta district, forcing the Afghan forces to respond.

This comes as a similar incident took place in Goshta district on April 2014 following Pakistani militia forces attack attacked Goshta district.

Goshta borders with Pakistan and has reportedly come under missile attack by Pakistani forces on a number of occasions.

Meanwhile Pakistani authorities have said two security personnel were injured in mortar fire from Afghanistan, including a major and another security personal.

The security officials quoted by pakistani media have said at least nine shells were fired on the Ziarat checkpost at around 4.30pm.
